Southern and London Overground trains will be severely disrupted this weekend. This is due to planned engineering works on various routes. The disruption will affect routes between East Croydon, Clapham Junction, and Watford Junction, as well as Southern services between London Victoria, Oxted, East Grinstead, London Bridge, East Croydon, and Uckfield. Some lines will be closed, and trains will be replaced by buses, with some services operating on amended timetables. The station was shut after reports of a casualty on the track yesterday (July 31) after 6.40pm. Emergency services were at the scene and a person was pronounced dead. The incident is not thought to be suspicious, the British Transport Police has said. All lines – the Thameslink, South Western Railway and District – were disrupted due to the death. Mark Stavrou, of Sherwood Close, has been charged with 41 counts of theft, two counts of burglary and one count of criminal damage. The 32-year-old was arrested last week Thursday (July 21) in connection with multiple shoplifting offences at supermarkets and petrol stations across Chingford. According to the Metropolitan Police, these incidents occurred between May 10 and July 31. Stavrou will appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court today (August 1). He has previously bene charged with 67 burglary offences and will enter a please next Thursday (August 7) for these at the same court. Source link
