It has been more than two-and-a-half years since Emma Bartolo’s 16-year-old son, Charlie, was “brutally” stabbed to death by a group of teens in Sewell Road, Abbey Wood. The double-decker London bus burst into flames on the busy road eastbound as it passed near Wennington around 9am today (August 1). The bus was on a test drive and was not carrying any passengers. There were no reported injuries as the driver left the vehicle before firefighters from the London and Essex fire services arrived. The A13 eastbound was closed with “severe delays” extending past Rainham and near to Dagenham. Thames Water issued an update on a burst pipe in Inverness Drive this morning (August 1) at 9.49am. The 19-year-old was attacked with a knife on Kilburn High Road, at the junction of Messina Avenue, on Thursday (July 31) at 3.10pm. He was taken to hospital, where at the time his injuries were assessed as life-threatening. In a new update, the Metropolitan Police has shared that his injuries are no longer life-threatening and are not life changing. The not-for-profit Hackney School of Food has been given National Lottery funding for activities for children and their families. The programme aims to fill a growing gap during the holidays when pupils from low-income families do not have free school meals and parents face rising childcare costs. “The holidays can be stressful and costly for families on low incomes,” Hackney School of Food director Zoe McIntyre said. “This funding means we can support those most at risk, offering skills and social connection as well as meals. “Our community kitchen and garden is where children can thrive and families can feel supported.” The government’s…
