Sales company Property Solvers named Link Avenue as the most expensive street in Romford according to its data with five properties being sold since 2020 for an average of £1,318,000. Emergency services were called to a fight in Sevenoaks Way in Orpington at midnight last night (August 2).  On arrival police and ambulance found a man with stab wounds. This week, the Recorder is looking back at the history of Cottons Park – the closest green space to Romford town centre on the edge of the ring road. It was originally known as Cottons Recreational Ground and was once part of the Cottons Estate, which was visited by Queen Elizabeth I in the 16th century. Harrow Road has been closed for hours today (August 2) near the junction with Elgin Avenue by police. The nature of the incident is not known at this stage. The video shows officers in blue overalls and facemasks making enquiries beside a bike that is lying on the pavement. A police cordon has blocked traffic from passing in both directions between Bravington Road to Ashmore Road. Priory Green in Harold Hill is the second location to be named a village green this year. A dedication event was held on Saturday, July 26, to unveil a stone plaque declaring the green space as a village green. This was attended by council leader Ray Morgon and Harold Hill ward councillors Paul McGeary and Patricia Brown.
