The incident happened in Bexley Road near Erith High Street just after 10.20am yesterday (June 25).  Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and the woman was treated at the scene. The fashion retailer unveiled a radical restructuring plan earlier this month to reverse recent heavy losses due to a slump in trading. Bosses blamed the closures on the “migration of shoppers from the high street to online” and higher costs to run stores. Bexley is one of 52 councils across the country to successfully apply for funds from the Chewing Gum Task Force and will receive £27,488.65. The money will be used to clean gum off pavements in Sidcup High Street, Station Road, in Sidcup, and Market Place, in Bexleyheath, as well as to prevent further littering. The clean-up effort, organised by Keep Britain Tidy, will begin in late summer and will last for ten weeks.
