Front counters at Kentish Town police station, in Holmes Road, and Church Street police station, in Lisson Grove, Marylebone, are among 18 across London set to close by the end of the year, according to a list published on Wednesday (August 6) by Scotland Yard. Landscape gardener Lee Claydon, 45, of Bournemouth, was pronounced dead at the scene after attending the concert on Saturday (August 2). Earlier this year, Santander said it would close 95 of its 444 high street branches in the UK from June 2025, putting 750 jobs at risk. In London, 10 Santander branches will close, and five of those are in south London. The Sidcup branch at 39 High Street will be the third south London branch to shut, closing at 3pm on Monday (August 11). Michael Swinyard spent two weeks in Queen’s Hospital earlier this year before being discharged on March 10. His daughter, Denise Russell, drove to the hospital to collect him.
