The Friends of Richmond Park has also said that a planned modernisation of the UK’s airspace threatens the “world famous green space”. Last week, two proposals were submitted for a new runway to be built at Heathrow airport, which could be operational by 2035. Heathrow has said that its plans, which would see a new 3,500-metre runway open to the north-west of its existing location, would increase the number of flights per year from 480,000 today to 756,000. It comes amid efforts by the government to modernise flight paths across the UK for the first time since the 1960s. …

Croydon Council described the prosecution as part of its ongoing efforts to tackle illegal waste dumping and keep the borough clean. Muhammad Ali, 46, from Thornton Heath, was fined after pleading guilty to fly-tipping following an incident in August 2023. The offence came to light when a councillor spotted a large pile of renovation waste dumped on the green between Pollards Hill West and Pollards Hill South. Jason Perry, executive mayor of Croydon, said: “Fly-tipping is a blight on our borough – it makes our streets look uncared for, it damages the environment, and it costs thousands of pounds in…
It is due to the Labour government’s new Electric Car Grant portal, which launched this Monday. Only 20 of the top 40 most accessible and affordable EVs on the Motability Scheme meet the grant’s £37k price limit, leaving half of the most practical models excluded. This is according to Matt Fieldhouse, Group Managing Director and Car Expert at Mobility in Motion. Apparently it was Blue Badge enforcement day yesterday. Nearly 2% of inspected badges were seized … lower than I thought but still shameful. @ParkinsonsUK #Disability pic.twitter.com/ZdxCuApm1y — Kevin Peake (@wcolts12) August 6, 2025 Fieldhouse also shared the top qualifying…
