The hats were made by members of Kiwanis Young Professionals UK which they handed to nurses at the labour ward in Romford. Bromley Council approved plans to knock down the village hall in Church Lane last week. The hall, which was built in the 1970s as a “temporary” structure after the old building burnt down, was described by planning consultants as being in a “poor state of repair”. Patients across the country shared their views in the annual GP Patient Survey, giving honest feedback about what their local surgeries are really like. In Croydon, Queenhill Medical Practice, Selsdon Park Medical Practice, and Selhurst Medical Centre emerged as the top performers, with the majority of patients reporting a positive overall experience. Police were called near to the car park on Thames Reach, opposite the Tesco Express, yesterday (August 6) at 9.10am to reports of a man with a metal pole causing a disturbance. At the scene, a man in his 20s, was found holding a pole. He was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon. The suspect remains in police custody. Erdal Ozmen was shot dead aged 45 on Dynevor Road, near Stoke Newington High Street, on Tuesday (August 5). Research by Hackney Gazette shows the man was involved in an infamous gang called the Bombacilar, Turkish for The Bombers, according to archive BBC reports.
