The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust’s (PAHT) communications team, Alex Health, made it to the 2025 HSJ Awards (Health Service Journal) shortlist. Patients were asked how easy it was to contact their GP practice by phone, and the results show clear differences across the area. Stovell House Surgery, Selsdon Park Medical Practice and Queenhill Medical Practice were rated the best for phone access. Woodcote Medical, Keston Medical Practice and County Park Practice were rated the worst for phone access. While these three surgeries were rated lowest for phone contact, the survey also asked about other things like overall experience, helpfulness of reception staff, getting an appointment and seeing a GP. The London Fire Brigade was called to Hertford Road, Enfield, shortly after 3.15pm on Sunday, August 10, following 12 calls from the public about the incident. The fire affected half of the first floor and the whole of the loft of a semi-detached house. The cause of the fire is not yet known. Crews from Enfield, Chingford, Edmonton, and Tottenham responded to the scene. One of the brigade’s 32-metre ladders was used as a water tower to help fight the flames from above. Officers were called to a building site on Whyteleafe Hill around 3.10pm today (August 12) after the discovery was made. The road was closed in both directions and a cordon remains in place. One local reported hearing “a big bang” around 7.45pm. Whyteleafe straddles the border of Surrey and Croydon, with some parts being included in the London borough. The London Ambulance Service was called at 2.06am this morning (August 12) with reports of an incident in Bloomsbury Way.  Ambulance crews, an incident response officer and a paramedic from the tactical response unit were dispatched to the scene.  London’s Air Ambulance, a charity that treats only London’s most seriously ill patients, also responded.  The first paramedic arrived within three minutes of the stabbing being reported.  Two teens were found with stab wounds  and were taken to a major trauma centre as a priority.  A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 2.06am today (12 August)…
