The incident between a group of men and women happened in Augustine Road just after 10.20pm yesterday (August 12). Officers attended the scene and those involved left before the arrival of police. The man was found stabbed and taken to a local hospital where he died shortly after. A 33-year-old man from Gravesend was arrested in connection with the incident. A murder investigation is now underway with cordons in place in Augustine Road. Detectives are appealing to any witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact them. Harrow Council will decide whether to strip Mumbai Local, an Indian restaurant in Streatfield Road, of its licence when its licensing panel meets next week (August 20). Immigration officers have found people working there illegally on three separate visits dating back to 2023. The licence review has been triggered by the Home Office due to the owner repeatedly employing people with no right to work in the UK and for paying them “substantially below” minimum wage. It follows a crash on December 2, 2024, when a van drove into the base of the sculpture, leaving part of it broken and debris scattered on the ground. Officers were called to reports of a young person at risk in Green Wrythe Lane just before 8.40pm on August 10. London Ambulance Service crews also attended and a man was found injured. He remains in hospital where his condition was confirmed as neither life threatening nor life changing. His next of kin are aware. Police enquiries are ongoing.
