The Metropolitan Police was called to New Cross Road just before 6am today (August 16) to reports of a stabbing. The police attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service. A 55-year-old man was found suffering with stab wound injuries and was taken to hospital. His condition has been deemed non-life-threatening. A cordon is currently in place on New Cross Road. Arlind Hashani, 22, of Bray Fellows Road, has been charged with the murder of Ahmed Ali Jama in Camden in 2023. Hashani appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday (August 15) after being arrested in Paris on July 30. Five vehicles were involved in a “serious” collision on the M11, near Chigwell and Theydon Bois, at around 4.55pm on Friday (August 15). The crash closed both carriageways for more than three hours, with AA reporting severe delays on both the M11 and A406 North Circular at the time. Three people have now been charged following a disturbance involving a “large group of people” at the Shell garage in Warley Hill on August 5. Eight people were arrested – five men, two teenage boys and a teenage girl – after the incident, which happened at around 7.45pm. Five of those arrested have since been released on bail. From August 18, The Park will be closed to traffic between its junctions with Carlton Road and Elm Road. Parking will also be suspended along this stretch. The closure is to allow the council’s contractor to carry out highway improvement works. Although the legal order lasts for up to 18 months, the works are expected to take just three days.
