The retail giant has reached a sale and leaseback agreement on 24 stores and its Lutterworth depot with two separate buyers.   The key elements of these transactions are:   Four stores (Small Heath, Colindale, Coventry Abbey Park and Killingbeck) have been sold to DTZ Investors and leased back.  Twenty stores and the Lutterworth depot have been sold to Blue Owl Capital and leased back.  These transactions have raised a total of £568 million.  All properties are subject to 25-year lease agreements, with a contractual option to renew for an additional 10 years at each renewal point.  Asda will continue to operate…

An event, held on Sunday, November 16, at St Michael and All Angels Parish Church commemorated the milestone. Sir Philip Warner was in attendance, who is the great-grandson of Sir Thomas Courtenay Warner, the first mayor of Walthamstow. Sir Thomas contributed significantly to the church’s construction and attended its consecration on November 18, 1885. Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust (BHRUT) saw the record number of patients across its emergency departments at Queen’s Hospital in Romford and King George Hospital in Goodmayes last month. This was the “busiest October ever” for the trust, says BHRUT chief executive Matthew Trainer, and meant that its A&Es treated 50 more people a day than October last year. The fiver is missing the text ‘Bank of England’ and ‘I promise to the bearer on demand the sum of five pounds’ at the top, to the left of the King’s head. From Wednesday (November 26) until Saturday (November 29), several bus routes will be affected as workers employed by London Transit prepare to walk out over a pay dispute. Wantz Road car park off Oxlow Lane was officially reopened on November 10 after being closed for 12 months. A Barking and Dagenham Council spokesperson said the facility was initially closed due to persistent vandalism and fly-tipping which led to it being unsafe to the public. Sam Dear, owner of Robertson’s Fishing Tackle in Oxlow Lane, began a petition to reopen the facility in July after telling this paper he was watching the 87-year-old business “die” with the loss of customers. The scheme would see the DLR extended from Gallions Reach to Thamesmead, with a new station at Beckton. This will finally bring a rail link to one of London’s most isolated areas. Thamesmead is one of London’s most transport-deprived communities, and leaders say the extension would begin to tackle decades of inequality. Early modelling suggests journey times to Stratford could go from 55 minutes to around 25 to 30 minutes.
