86-year-old David is missing from Barnehurst. Police say he frequents the Bexleyheath area and was last seen wearing a blue and green puffer jacket, a black jumper, and navy jeans. David has been deemed vulnerable, so anyone who sees him is urged to call 101, quoting 152/29NOV25. While these stories dominated headlines, a similar, troubling issue is happening here in Haringey under Labour’s watch. A Guardian investigation recently revealed that several councils are placing or referring residents into Houses in Multiple Occupation that do not have the required licence. Haringey was one of the councils named. Rather than treating unlicensed properties as a red line, the council has continued to use or refer residents who rely on the authority for support towards them. Essex Police has put out an appeal for witnesses and information following a collision in Thoby Lane, Mountnessing on Friday (November 28). The crash, which happened just before 8pm, involved a White Toyota Hilux – with the driver later taken to hospital with “serious” injuries. The Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation following the death of Franklin Francis, from Newham. Officers were called to Palmerston Road, Forest Gate, at 3.52pm on Tuesday (November 25) after reports of a fight and found the 56-year-old unresponsive. He was rushed to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, where he was in a “life-threatening condition”, but later passed away on Thursday (November 27). His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
