A group of three boys appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court yesterday (January 8), accused of conspiring to steal 32 iPhones from the Apple Store at the atria Watford shopping centre on Monday (January 6).
This includes two boys, 17, from Lambeth and Colliers Wood, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Following the plea, the two 17-year-olds were conditionally bailed until their next appearance at Croydon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (January 10), where they are expected to be sentenced.
Conditions for their bail include a ban on entering Watford, as well as being barred from entering any Apple store in the country.
An 18-year-old from Lambeth is set to appear in St Albans Crown Court on February 5 for his plea.
This follows a separate incident where five teenage boys were charged after 50 phones were stolen from the Apple Store in Brent Cross Shopping Centre on January 5.
Six teenagers, aged between 14 and 18, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken into custody.
Mycah Omo-Idahosa, 18, of Lothian Rd, Lambeth, will appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court today (January 7) charged with robbery.
Two 15-year-old boys from Lambeth, a 14-year-old boy from Croydon and a 16-year-old boy from Cambridge have also been charged with robbery and will appear at the same court.
One other 15-year-old boy who was initially arrested has been bailed while enquiries continue.
