The Amazement Park will take over an 80,000 sq ft space at the West London mall where art collective Wake The Tiger will invite visitors to explore a “parallel world of imagination and otherworldly art”.
They’re the people behind immersive music and theatre festival Boomtown Fair which every year builds a sprawling themed city with districts, stages characters and hidden venues where ‘citizens’ are encouraged to be part of the narrative.
Wake The Tiger’s Bristol ‘Amazement Park’ has already welcomed 50,000 visitors on a fantastical self-guided voyage of discovery. (Image: Wake The Tiger) Wake The Tiger also opened the world’s first Amazement Park in Bristol which features 40 hyper real spaces where you can take a self-guided voyage through kaleidoscopic realms – from an abandoned paint factory to a glowing mushroom tree, and a dream factory of secret passageways.
The new Westfield space will be transformed by hundreds of artists, makers and creatives who will invite Londoners and tourists into an eye-popping visual world that explores themes of sustainability, community and connection.
The group build hyper-real sets using lighting effects to create a unique way of storytelling. (Image: Wake The Tiger) Graham MacVoy, Co-Founder at Wake The Tiger, said: “When we conceptualised Wake The Tiger we knew we were taking a risk to create something unique, utilising decades of experience and working with hundreds of creatives at the cutting edge of storytelling.
“It’s been phenomenally successful with over 500,000 visitors since opening and now is the time to bring Wake The Tiger to the capital.”
Luke Mitchell, Co-Founder of Wake The Tiger, added: “This is a culmination of over 20 years of creative world-building, from our ground-breaking festival, Boomtown, to a new genre of immersive visitor attractions; Amazement Parks®.
“The space in Westfield London has totally blown our mind. It’s as if it was created for us and we can’t wait to transform it into an alternate dimension.”
“Westfield London is an extraordinary stage for our creative vision. Our mission is to use this space to bring joy, curiosity and connection to the heart of one of the UK’s most dynamic urban environments.”
