Panna Nagar had been the headteacher of Northfleet Nursery School for 15 years from 2005 to 2020.
The school has announced that she was on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft which departed from Ahmedabad with 242 people on board.
It’s reported that 53 of the passengers were British nationals.
In a tribute from the school, it described Ms Nagar as a “remarkable leader, mentor and friend”.
The tribute reads: “Panna Nagar was more than just an educator, she was a guiding light, an inspiration, and a champion for every child and staff member lucky enough to walk through her doors.
“With unwavering dedication, Ms Nagar fostered a school environment filled with warmth, kindness and encouragement.
“She believed in every student’s potential, empowering them to dream big and strive for excellence.”
It added that her support for staff was “steadfast” and everyone felt valued and heard.
The tribute added: “The impact she had on our lives is immeasurable. The lessons taught, the wisdom shared, and the love given will remain in our hearts forever.”
