The Castle Hotel on Victoria Road in Acton is set to be replaced by a major redevelopment including a 32-storey and a 27-storey building, 462 co-living rooms with shared amenities and a replacement pub.
Ealing Council approved details of the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and detailed SAP Worksheets for the scheme, following planning permission granted on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.
In a letter dated Friday, January 9, the council’s head of development management stated: “The decision to approve the details pursuant to condition 31(g) of planning permission… has been taken having regard to Policy SI 2 of the London Plan (2021).
“The Council’s Energy Officer has reviewed the documents and confirmed that that the details are acceptable.
“The proposal is considered acceptable on these grounds, and it is not considered that there are any other material considerations in this case that would warrant a refusal of the application.”
The final approval covers energy performance certificates and SAP worksheets, as required by the planning conditions for the site.
The scheme includes a replacement pub, cycle and blue badge parking, bin storage, and landscaping.
It is being developed by Tide Construction.
All other aspects of the project must continue to comply with the original planning permission.
This includes a series of non-material amendments approved throughout 2024 and into 2025.
