The blaze on Basildon Road destroyed one shed and 10 metres of garden fencing, also damaging a metal and timber shed.
Four fire engines and 25 firefighters attended the scene just after 11.30pm last night (Wednesday).
Sub Officer Anna Snelson said: “On arrival, it was a very visible fire with flames coming from high above the shed.
“There were 27 calls made to our 999 control centre to alert the brigade about the fire.”
The fire, deemed accidental, was under control in just over an hour.
