The incident between two vehicles happened at the Rayleigh Spur roundabout on the A130 shortly after 4.15am on September 1.
One man died at the scene, while another died at hospital.
Five other people were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The drivers of the two cars –men from Barking aged 23 and 24 – were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
They have been released on bail until November 20 while investigations into the crash continue.
