Part of A13 Thames Gateway will be shut at certain times between today (December 8) and December 19 to allow for the repair of the road’s loop detector, which acts as a vehicle sensor.
The closures will be in force between 10pm and 5.30am, Monday to Saturday – but could end sooner than December 19 if the works finish early.
All vehicles – except emergency services – will be prohibited on the eastbound carriageway of the A13 between its junction with the slip road connecting to Wennington Interchange and Havering’s border with Essex.
The slip road to Wennington Interchange itself will also be closed.
Closures will be indicated by traffic signs, as will the diversion routes.
A13 Thames Gateway is expected to face a series overnight closures for nearly two years to enable road safety works to take place, according to a recent traffic order from Transport for London (TfL).
