The 77-year-old man was found injured on the East India Dock Road at around 1.45pm yesterday (August 20).
The ambulance service treated him at the scene, and an air ambulance also landed nearby.

Enquiries are ongoing and police want to hear from anyone with information on the incident.
The major road connecting central London with east London and Essex was closed for hours after the crash, but has since reopened.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “While on patrol, Met officers witnessed a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian in East India Dock Road at 13:42hrs on Wednesday, 20 August.

“The pedestrian, a 77-year-old man, was treated at the scene by paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and was later taken to hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition. His next of kin have been informed.
“The driver of the car involved in the collision stopped at the scene. No arrests have been made.
“Enquiries continue.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.39pm today (20 August) to reports of a road traffic collision in East India Dock Road, E14.
“We an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer to the scene.
“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated a patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre by road as a priority.”
