Springfield Gardens has been chosen as the new Privet Drive in HBO’s new Harry Potter series, The Sun has said.
It described the road as “very normal”.
This street is lined with Tudor-style houses that mirror the set-built depiction of the famous street from the original films.

Whilst no Springfield Gardens properties are listed for sale or rent on Rightmove, multiple homes fetched £700,000 or more in the past five years.
According to Rightmove, two houses were sold in July last year – a four-bed, semi-detached home sold for £850,000 and a three-bed, terraced home sold for £705,000.
Two three-bed, semi-detached houses were sold before this – one for £750,000 in May last year and one for £715,000 in October 2023.

According to the listing in January 2023, its features included a purpose built home office, heating, air conditioning and storage at the bottom of the garden.

It was also deemed to have a “stunning quality, bespoke, fully-fitted kitchen with numerous integrated appliances” plus utility room and an extensive range of quality fitted wardrobes and other bedroom furniture in three bedrooms.
The street is located in the south-east of Upminster and feeds into multiple smaller residential roads such as Rushmere Avenue and Ashleigh Gardens.

Essex Wildlife Trust describes this reserve as “an example of what the countryside would have looked like before the urban sprawl”.
The west side of Springfield Gardens feeds into Corbets Tey Road – one of the borough’s main roads.

The closest pub to Springfield Gardens is The Crumpled Horn in Corbets Tey Road.
Owned by Marstons, The Crumpled Horn offers the “perfect pint and top value pub food” according to its website.
“We’ve got that classic British pub atmosphere everyone loves,” it says.
Upminster Park (Image: Google) Just north of the road is a range of sports facilities such as tennis courts, table tennis tables, a football pitch and Upminster Cricket Club situated in Upminster Park.
Only a few metres away from here is Upminster Library and St Laurence Church.
Springfield Gardens has no shortage of nearby schools with St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, Speak the World Language School and the Ofsted ‘good’ rated Coopers’ Company and Coborn School.
The secondary school was ranked as having the fifth highest Progress 8 score in Havering in the latest government data set.
‘Progress 8’ score shows how much progress pupils at a school made between the end of key stage 2 and the end of key stage 4, compared to pupils across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 2.
