On Commercial Street in Tower Hamlets, loveholidays has planted an orange tree and fitted scent machines to pump fresh orange smell into the air.
Loveholidays marketing chief Al Murray said: “We know that January can feel like a drag, so we wanted to bring a breath of fresh air, and a hint of citrus, to the heart of London.
“Travel is all about the senses, and by transforming a mundane moment like waiting for the bus into an orange-scented Seville escape, we’re reminding people that their next great getaway is closer than they think.”

Loveholidays is urging commuters to take a “smellfie” at the stop and post it on Instagram or TikTok, tagging @loveholidaysofficial.
The prize is a £3,000 holiday.
The promotion tells Londoners to “step out of the drizzle and straight into holiday mode,” as orange-scented air gives them a quick break from the daily grind.

The installation takes its cue from Seville’s sights and scents.
The campaign aims to make Londoners daydream about sun, bringing a hit of holiday atmosphere to the capital in winter.
The bus shelter stays in its new look until Sunday, January 25, giving commuters a short window to try the Spanish-themed escape and enter the holiday draw.
