Officers were in the process of patrolling criminal hotspots in Newham yesterday (January 17) when the team spotted an individual acting suspiciously on Dacre Road in Plaistow.
The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle and officers chased him down.
He was then stopped and searched, in which Class A drugs, several mobile phones and a large quantity of cash were found, the Metropolitan Police said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class A and he was further arrested for failing to appear at court for possession of an offensive weapon and disqualified driving offences.
The Met Police said: “This arrest showcases the dedication of the Metropolitan Police Service in addressing priorities and concerns of the community and the utilisation of proactive measures to tackle issues.”
