The reality TV contestant, who is in his 20s, has not been identified at this stage for legal reasons.
Metropolitan Police officers have been investigating this case since November 15 last year, with an arrest taking place 12 days later after he landed at Gatwick Airport.
The man has since been released on bail.
According to The Sun, the suspect has appeared on Love Island in the past but is not connected to the current Love Island: All Stars spin-off series which is currently running.
He is allegedly also accused of criminal damage, assault by beating and threats of revenge porn
A Met Police spokesperson said: “He was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, including sexual assault, stalking, criminal damage and assault.
“A woman has been offered specialist support by officers.”
