Vue has said its teams are “working extensively” to combat a reported rodent problem at the cinema in The Brewery Shopping Centre.
Additional proofing and cleaning measures are expected to be brought in after a Dagenham mum spotted mice “running around and on the chairs” when she took her children to see a film.
In a post on social media, the mum said: “Went to go watch the new Sponge Bob movie with children at Romford and there was mice running around and on the chairs.
“It was completely disgusting.
“I got told pest control goes in regularly but the amount I see they surely can’t.”
A mum previously told this paper she was left feeling “sick” after she saw four mice at the cinema in March last year, “eating crumbs off the floor”.

There are 47 reviews on Google about Vue Romford which mention mice – the most recent of which was published on January 11.
A spokesperson for Vue assured customers that the company is continuing to work with the Romford team to tackle the issue.
The spokesperson said: “We are working extensively at our Romford site to combat the issues raised, including regular contractor visits and the introduction of a wide range of additional proofing and cleaning measures.
“This is an ongoing process, but we will continue to work with our Romford team and with our contractors to ensure the safety and comfort of all our customers.”
