Rail services to and from London Euston were severely disrupted at around 7.45pm yesterday (January 15).
Officers and paramedics were called to Apsley station after a casualty on the tracks was reported.
The person was pronounced dead shortly after.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
As a result, trains travelling between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central, a key route for Euston services, were brought to a halt, causing widespread delays and cancellations for passengers heading into and out of the capital.

“Whilst the emergency services carry out their work, all lines are closed.
“Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
“Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.”
