A large number of police began arriving in the area near Dagnam Park at around 6pm.
The nature of the incident is not yet known but footage shows officers with rifles in the surrounding streets.
In a second video, a man is led away by two officers. Police have not yet confirmed if he was arrested.
Drapers’ Academy shared that the emergency services were using the school and Settle Road as an “accessible base” as it responded to the incident elsewhere.
The incident is not at the school but occurring at another location with the school emphasising there is no risk to pupils.
Police vehicles have been pictured on other surrounding roads, including Dagnam Park Drive and Petersfield Avenue.
The Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
