Two potholes have been pictured outside the Halfords store in the car park of Gallows Corner Retail Park – one of which appears to measure 60cm in width.
Due to rain water, the depth is difficult to see, however a Romford resident told the Recorder the largest hole measures 30cm deep.

The resident, who did not wish to be named, said the larger pothole has been causing issues “for months”, but claims that “nothing has been done” to repair the road.
She told this paper: “It is shockingly dangerous to vehicles hitting it, drivers when oncoming cars swerve to avoid the pothole, and to pedestrians nearby.
“I was there last night and someone nearly drove into me when they swerved around it at the last minute.

“I’m shocked it’s been there so long now and only getting bigger.”
The resident claimed that UK Parking Control, the company that manages the car park, is “well aware” of the potholes but has not put anything in place to “alert drivers to their presence and danger”.

UK Parking Control has been contacted for comment but has not responded.
Thursday (January 15) is National Pothole Day, with AA revealing that it received 643,318 pothole-related callouts across the country in 2024 – down on the previous year.
AA president Edmund King said: “The good news is that pothole related car incidents have declined but the bad news is that the cost of repairs has increased.
“Potholes are still the number one issue for drivers and more needs to be done to build on this improvement.”
