A casualty on the tracks was reported near Leicester just before 4.50am this morning (January 15).
Two rail operators serving London are now facing disruption, with CrossCountry and East Midlands Railway services affected.
All lines between Loughborough and Leicester have since reopened after being closed whilst emergency services dealt with the scene
National Rail has issued advice to customers looking to travel on these services today.
Disruption to services is expected to last until 12pm.
CrossCountry customers between Birmingham New Street and Cambridge / Stanstead Airport, and East Midlands Railway passengers for London St Pancras are advised that services may still be delayed by up to 45 minutes, revised, or cancelled.
