Police were called at around 5pm yesterday (January 13) to Carey Gardens in Nine Elms.
Officers arrived and arrested a suspect on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
He was later arrested again on suspicion of assaulting an emergency.
The man has been bailed pending further enquiries.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Officers were called at around 17:00hrs on Tuesday, 13 January to a report of a man with a knife outside of a property on Carey Gardens, Nine Elms.
“Officers attended and arrested a man in his 70s on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
“He was later also arrested for assaulting an emergency worker.
“He was bailed pending further enquiries.”
