The businesses are set to find out which kebab house is the best in the country at the awards ceremony, which takes place on February 24, 2026, from 5pm to 11pm, at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, 200 Westminster Bridge Road, London, SE1 7UT.
From the best Greek restaurant to the best value restaurant, we’ve rounded up all the London-based kebab houses in the running to win the event.
While several shops and restaurants have made the cut in some categories, with only one business being included in others – let’s take a closer look at everybody’s favourite category, best takeaway in London.
Twelve London-based takeaways have been shortlisted for the coveted accolade at the British Kebab Awards, including shops in Whitechapel, South Croydon, and East Ham.
Elsewhere, the finalists for Best Kebab Restaurant in South and East London have also been revealed.
The restaurants in the running include Fes Restaurant – London SE17, Selsdon Kebab Centre – South Croydon, Veyso’s Romford – Romford, and Lara Grill – Dagenham.
The North and West London-based kebab restaurants that have made the list are: Melissa Restaurant (Edgware) – Edgware, Divan Restaurant – Finchley, Persian Palace (Ealing) – London W13, Istanbul Shish Grill – London NW2, Durum Restaurant – Finchley, Cengo Ocakbasi Enfield – Enfield, Haven Grill Meze Mangal – London W5, and Irmak Restaurant – Enfield.
A number of restaurants have also been shortlisted for prestigious awards, including Efes Restaurant (Whitechapel) – London E1, O’Gosht – London SE1, and Antalya Restaurant – London WC1 for best value restaurant.
One chef from Hazev – London E14 has also been shortlisted for Chef of the Year.
Testi Restaurant in Stoke Newington chef Hasan Uzum is also up for the award.
London even has its own best delivery, with Salamis Kebab House (Ilford) shortlisted.
The Classic Greek in Whetstone has also been shortlisted in the best Greek restaurant and/or takeaway.
Kosher Shawarma fans in London can get their fix from restaurants such as Balady, Grill on the Hill, La Fiesta, MAZAL, Pita, and Reubens Restaurant, all shortlisted in the kosher Shawarma category.
