A Stan Is Born!, written and performed by queer international comedian and TikTok sensation Alexis Sakellaris, will run at The Other Palace Studio from January 15 to 17, 2026, before moving to Seven Dials Playhouse from February 10 to 12, 2026.
The show arrives fresh from critical success at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it was described as “a joyous musical delight” by Binge Fringe and “a fabulously entertaining hour” by The Reviews Hub.
A Stan Is Born! tells the story of a queer child’s obsession with pop divas and the journey to find their own inner star.
The 55-minute show features 10 original songs and is recommended for audiences aged 12 and above.
The story follows Alexis’ drastic relocation from New York City to rural Germany, where a deep fascination with vocal legends like Céline Dion, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and Aretha Franklin becomes the main source of joy and escape.
In the middle of nowhere, Alexis sets out on a mission to convert the local townspeople into fellow fans—known as “stans”—while searching for real-life divas among them.
The journey is packed with culture clashes, humour, and a personal exploration of what it truly means to be a “stan”—and whether idol worship is all it’s cracked up to be.
The show will go on to the Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival following its London run.
A Stan Is Born! was shortlisted for Best New Show at Brighton Fringe 2025 and has been praised by fellow performers.
Comedian and Las Culturistas host Matt Rogers said: “Alexis is a total supernova.
“Go see this show and catch some joy.”
Nine public performance dates have been confirmed over January and February.
From January 15 to 17, the show will be staged at The Other Palace Studio, London SW1E 5JA, with each performance starting at 8pm.
It will then move to Seven Dials Playhouse, London WC2H 9NP, from February 10 to 12, also at 8pm.
Tickets start at £12.
