Ashmead Care Centre will host an event to showcase the refurbished facilities and offer free treatments in its new wellbeing suite on Thursday, January 23 from 11am to 3pm.
The Care Centre, part of the Maria Mallaband Care Group, is celebrating the completion of a five-month refurbishment project enhancing living spaces and facilities at the home, which specialises in nursing and dementia care.
Completed in December, the upgrade includes a bespoke reception with a café and seating area, a new nursing unit and a luxury private dementia unit, alongside renovations to hallways, dining rooms, lounges, and the terrace and outdoor spaces.

A key part of the work was the development of a lifestyle suite, with a hair salon and a new wellness room offering classes and treatments including yoga and massages to those living in the home.
The open day will give local people and families of those living in the home, professionals and anyone interested in learning more the opportunity to see the new facilities.
Guests including Putney, Roehampton and Southfields MP Fleur Anderson will be given a tour of the salon, where mini treatments and manicures will be of offer on the day. Free yoga and mindfulness sessions will also be running in the wellness room.
Luminita Cupsa, home manager at Ashmead Care Centre, said: “This refurbishment has been a fantastic opportunity to enhance the environment for everyone who lives and works at Ashmead.
“The new wellbeing spaces, in particular, will support relaxation and social connection, and we’re delighted to be able to share them with the local community at our open day.”
The open day will also see the launch of a new partnership with Hair Angels, a specialist dementia-friendly hairdressing service, which will visit Ashmead’s salon twice weekly, offering hairdressing to those living in the home and the wider community too.
The home’s lifestyle team will also start to deliver an enhanced programme of activities, including complementary therapies, stretching and movement classes.
