A search was in place at the boating lake today (January 9) at 12.26pm, with a helicopter hovering over the area while firefighters were searching in the water.
It is understood the incident was stood down around 1.30pm.
No one was found during this time.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “We were called to reports of a person in the water at the boating lake in Mayesbrook Park on Lodge Avenue in Dagenham.
“Three fire engines and one fire rescue unit were mobilised by the Brigade’s 999 Control officers. They received the first call to the incident at 1226.
“Crews searched the lake and no one was found.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.27pm today (9 January) to reports of a person in the water at Mayesbrook Park, Dagenham.
“We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars, a clinical team manager and paramedics from our hazardous area response team (HART).
“Our crews assisted our emergency services partners at the scene but were later stood down.”
