The emergency services were called to Borough High Street in Southwark at around 12.30am this morning (January 7).
Paramedics arrived with a team from the air ambulance.but a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police has been contacted for further information.
Borough High Street was closed until around 10am this morning and has since reopened.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 12.34am today (7 January) to reports of a road traffic collision on Borough High Street, SE1.
“We sent resources to the scene including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, a paramedic in a fast response car and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“Our first paramedic arrived on scene in less than four minutes.
“Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a patient was pronounced dead at the scene.”
