The Met praised the bravery of its officers after the pursuit on December 28 along the A12, A406 and M11.
The driver was stopped – but not before it “collided with a police car, causing it to spin into the central reservation”, said the Met Police.
A picture shows heavy damage to the front of a police car with the bumper hanging off and the bonnet crumpled.
Nobody was seriously injured in the crash.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of various driving offences including drink driving.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “The bravery of our officers saw a dangerous motorist taken off our roads.
“On Sunday, 28 December, officers’ pursuit a car on A12, A406 and M11.
“Fantastic work by everyone involved ensured that the driver was stopped, unfortunately not before it collided with a police car, causing it to spin into the central reservation.
“Luckily no one was seriously injured by this driver.
“Officers arrested the driver for various driving offences including drink driving.”
