Harrow Council has granted full planning permission for Phase 2A of the Grange Farm Estate regeneration, which will deliver 45 new affordable homes on the estate in south Harrow.
The new homes will be split between two apartment blocks.
Block A will be three storeys high while Block B will rise to four storeys.
Of the 45 units, 18 will be one-bedroom, 18 will be two-bedroom, seven will be three-bedroom with capacity for five people and two will be three-bedroom for six people.
All of the homes will be affordable, with 80 per cent for social rent and 20 per cent available as London Living Rent.
Five units will be built to wheelchair-accessible standards.
The development will include 32 car parking spaces, with five designated as disabled bays and 92 long-stay and four short-stay cycle parking spaces.
Landscaping plans include the planting of 30 new trees.
The scheme also provides 683sqm of publicly accessible open space, including 145sqm of play space at ground floor level.
Public realm improvements, children’s play areas, and enhanced access are also part of the plans.
The council has made a planning obligation under Section 106 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to support the delivery of the scheme.
