This only includes incidents that Newsquest London is aware of and has reported on.
Three separate incidents – two shootings and a spate of stabbings – have taken place across the capital since 6pm on Friday (January 2), leaving five people in hospital, and another injured.
They are not thought to be linked in any way.
Woman in her 50s ‘shot with air rifle’ in Chadwell Heath
A woman in her 50s was rushed to hospital on Friday (January 2) after being shot with an “air rifle” in Chadwell Heath.
Metropolitan Police officers were called to Whalebone Lane South at around 7.15pm after reports of a shooting.
Once at the scene, officers discovered a woman, aged in her 50s, with an injury “consistent with an air rifle”.
She was taken to hospital, with with injuries deemed not to be life changing or life threatening.
Police later arrested two men on suspicion of possession of a firearm and intent to endanger life, who have since both been bailed pending further enquiries.
Two in hospital after ‘multiple stabbings’ in central London
Two men were taken to hospital – and a third left with minor injuries – after “multiple stabbings” in Edgware Road just before 1am on Sunday (January 4).
Metropolitan Police officers and London Ambulance Service crews found three men, in their 20s and 30s, suffering from stab wounds after being called to the road.
Two men were taken to a major trauma centre: one man in his 20s, who remains in “life-threatening condition”, and another man in his 30s who suffered “life-changing injuries”.
A third man was treated and discharged at the scene with minor injuries.
Police have not yet made any arrests at the time of writing, but are making “urgent enquiries”.
Two in hospital after middle-of-night shooting in Bexleyheath

Emergency services rushed to Broadway, Bexleyheath, at around 2.15am on Sunday morning (January 4) after reports of a shooting.
Ambulance crews, paramedics and police officers treated two men in their 30s at the scene before they were taken to hospital.
One man, aged 30, was treated for a gunshot wound – however his condition is currently unknown.
A second man, aged 35, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at the scene before also being taken to hospital.
