The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that two men – previously arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm and intent to endanger life – have since been bailed pending further enquiries.
However, a Met Police spokesperson told this paper that no other suspects are being sought in relation to this incident.
It follows reports of a shooting in Whalebone Lane South, Chadwell Heath, on Friday (January 2) at around 7.15pm.
At the scene, officers discovered a woman in her 50s with an injury “consistent with an air rifle”, who was then rushed to hospital.
The Met Police confirmed that her injuries are not life changing or life threatening.
Two men, aged 29 and 18, were later arrested at an address nearby.
A spokesperson for the Met Police previously said: “Police were called to a report of a firearm discharge on Whalebone Lane South, Chadwell Heath at 19:14hrs on Friday, 2 January.
“Officers attended and a woman, aged in her 50s, was found with an injury consistent with an air rifle.
“She was taken to hospital and assessed to have non-life-changing or life-threatening injuries.
“Two men, aged 29 and 18, were arrested at an address nearby on suspicion of possession of a firearm and intent to endanger life.”
