A temporary ban on stopping will be enforced on part of Stanstead Road and nearby roads to allow new water connection works to take place, according to the Public Notice Portal.
Transport for London intends to make a traffic order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, stating that vehicles will not be allowed to stop on sections of Stanstead Road, Park Rise Road, and Elsinore Road in Lewisham.
The order will be effective at certain times from 8am on January 7, 2026, until 6pm on January 18, 2026, or when the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
The prohibition will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
The order includes exemptions for vehicles being used in connection with the works, as well as emergency services vehicles.
Vehicles operating under the direction of a police constable in uniform or a person authorised by Transport for London will also be exempt.
The temporary order was made public for Lewisham under the formal name ‘The A205 GLA Road (Stanstead Road, London Borough of Lewisham) (Temporary Prohibition of Stopping) Order 2026’.
Notices were published by TfL on December 17, 2025.
