Police were called to Eltham Hill at around 2:30am today (January 1).
A man in his 50s was found at the scene by officers with injuries to his head, torso and arms.
The force has confirmed his injuries are neither life-threatening or life-changing.
There have been no arrests.
Police are continuing to make enquiries and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
A spokesperson for Met Police said: “Police were called at 02.26hrs to Eltham Hill, Eltham, following reports that a man was attacked by a group of men.
“Officers found a man in his 50s at the scene with injuries to his head, torso and arms.
“He was taken to hospital where they were deemed to not be life-threatening or life-changing.
“No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.
“If you have any information that could help police please contact 101 quoting CAD 1426/01Jan.”
