The Met Office yellow warning for snow and ice is in place from 12am (midnight) until 12pm (noon) tomorrow, covering London and large parts of the south east of England.
Forecasts are warning that a band of sleet and snow will move through during the early hours and morning, bringing with it potential travel and road disruption.
Snowfall of 1–2cm is possible in places, with up to 5cm in a few spots, especially on higher ground.
As the snow and sleet clear, ice is expected to form quickly on untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths, impacting driving and walking conditions.
Residents are being warned to expect longer journey times by road, bus and train, along with hazardous conditions first thing tomorrow.
London is expected to start the day cold and cloudy, with the risk of sleet or snow showers early on.
As the morning progresses, conditions should gradually improve, with cloud clearing to allow sunny spells through the afternoon.
Despite brighter weather later, it will remain chilly, with a maximum temperature of around 4°C.
