The former car park is located in Westbury Road, lying just a short distance from Brentwood High Street and mainline train station.
The ‘L’-shaped land parcel spans roughly 0.72 acres, and has been listed for sale on property site Zoopla by Kemsley Property Consultants.
In 2023, Brentwood Council provided planning approval for the “redevelopment of the site comprising 45 residential units, landscaping, car and cycle parking and associated plant infrastructure”.
These proposed homes were approved to be split across three and four storeys, with 21 one-bed properties, 13 two-bed homes, seven three-bed apartments, and four two-bed townhouses.
The listing said none of these approved homes were proposed to fall in line with affordable housing measures, though an agreement was entered into in 2023 confirming the developer of the site would pay a sum of £507,300 “in lieu of affordable housing, open space, and a contribution to the NHS”.
Offers are invited by informal tender until 12pm (midday) on January 21.
