Police were initially called to Romford Road with reports of an assault at around 3am on yesterday (December 11)
At the scene, the man was found to have suffered a stab wound.
He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening or changing injuries.
Police believe the reported assault occurred at around 2am the same day in Jack Cornwell Street.
There have been no arrests at this stage.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Around 3am on Thursday, December 11, officers attended Romford Road with the London Ambulance Service. A man, aged in his 40s, was treated for a stab wound.
“He was taken to hospital, where his condition was assessed as non-life-changing and non-life-threatening. It is believe the assault happened around 2am that day in Jack Cornwell Street, E12.”
