The hospital has been left without heating or hot water today (December 8) after the failure of a boiler.
Portable heaters have been distributed, according to Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust (BHRUT) which runs King George, and a temporary boiler will be installed while the trust finds a permanent solution.
It is not clear at this stage how long it will take to fix the boiler.

Fiona Wheeler, chief operating officer at BHRUT, apologised to patients and staff affected and said the hospital is working to resolve the issue “as quickly as possible”.
Ms Wheeler said: “We’re sorry to all patients and staff who have been affected by the boiler failure at King George Hospital, we’re working to fix this as quickly as possible.
“Portable heaters were distributed throughout the hospital as soon as we were aware of this and a temporary boiler will be in place while the issue is resolved.”
