Transport for London has announced it will increase the number of train services on the line from December 20 “in response to increasing demand for weekend leisure travel.”
Customers travelling into central London will see an extra four Elizabeth line trains running every hour on Saturdays.
Between Whitechapel and Paddington a train will run every three minutes – a total of 20 trains per hour.
Two additional trains per hour will run from Gidea Park.
The extra Elizabeth line services are expected to run between 11am and 8pm on Saturdays, with the existing timetabled services of 16 trains an hour to remain unchanged outside of these hours.

Some existing services between these hours have been re-timed to facilitate the added services.
Trish Ashton, Director of Rail at TfL, said: “Whether enjoying an afternoon of shopping, or seeing a show in the West End, we’re really pleased that customers travelling on Saturdays will now benefit from more frequent services from the eastern branches into central London.
“As with all timetable updates, we recommend checking your journey before you set off, on the TfL Go app, or at TfL.gov.uk.”
