The two-part festive spin-off with a Hong Kong-centred storyline airing later this month, will see Max Macmillan reprise his role as Timothy Turner after two years off screen.
Timothy, who is the son of Dr Patrick Turner (Stephen McGann), first arrived on the BBC drama at the end of 2012, and last appeared in the 2023 Christmas special.
Call the Midwife said it’s been “wonderful” to welcome Max back to the 1970s set as his return was documented alongside a “Turner selfie”.
