North London Grammar School, in Colindeep Lane, Colindale, received the Independent Schools Association (ISA) Award 2025 for International Provision for its International Greenwich Olympiad.
The contest has connected more than 500 students from 53 countries through project-based scientific and creative challenges.
The award was voted for by a panel of expert judges, including school leaders and education experts, who look for standout stories of ambition, success, and achievement.
Headteacher Bekir Adak said: “At North London Grammar School, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom.
“The International Greenwich Olympiad reflects our commitment to nurturing curiosity, intercultural understanding, and leadership in our students.
“Receiving the ISA Award for International Provision is a proud moment for our entire school community, and we are deeply grateful to the team, students and partners who make this global initiative possible.”
Now in its fourth year, the Olympiad has become a hub of innovation and collaboration, with students raising their national flags together at the opening ceremony in Oxford and sharing traditional performances during a culture night.
The event includes an exhibition of both scientific and non-scientific projects, offering a global stage for young people to showcase their ideas and creativity.
The Olympiad collaborates with a wide range of global partners, including scientific networks, ministries of education, and affiliated organisations, highlighting its international reach and commitment to fostering innovation, intercultural exchange, and sustainability in education.
More than a competition, it is described as a platform for intercultural networking and global collaboration, inspiring participants to become creative, socially responsible leaders.
