Global franchise Tariq Halal Meats has revealed it will be opening at 17-19 Market Place.
The business posted on its Instagram page on November 14.
The post read: “Romford, get ready.
“A fresh Tariq Halal store is landing soon at 17-19 Market Place, and it’s going to change the way you shop for Halal meat.
“Expect quality cuts, daily fresh chicken, marinated flavours, easy weekday picks, and a range people drive across London for the same trusted Tariq Halal you know, now right in the heart of Romford.”
The address is that of former bubble tea shop T4, which closed in June.
The premises has been vacant since.
It is understood that the decision to close down just 14 months after opening in the town centre was as a result of low footfall, among other issues.
On November 20, Tariq Halal confirmed on Instagram that the new branch will open next Thursday (December 4).
This is only a day after the franchise is set to open another branch in a former HSBC bank building in Bethnal Green.
Zayd Hossain, brother of franchise owner Sheikh Hossain described the soon-to-be-open Bethnal Green branch as “not a normal butchers” and “more refined” than the industry standard.
The franchise was founded in 1965 by Tariq Sheik and his father and is now a “renowned Halal meat specialist with a rich heritage in the meat trade,” according to the company’s website.
The business has recently expanded into the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
There are 32 branches across the UK that are either open or “opening soon” including the Romford store.
Tariq Halal Meats has been contacted for more information.
