It’s no great secret that London surely loves an afternoon tea, with so many festive afternoon tea spots vying for your attention.
But the London Marriott Hotel at County Hall may just have one of the best views in London if you’re looking for that quintessential London vibe.

Served in the hotel’s library with views overlooking the Thames and Big Ben, this afternoon tea is definitely one of the most Instagram-worthy settings I’ve visited – especially with the large tree decorated for Christmas.
We began the experience with a glass of fizz before selecting our teas, all from the brand Newbie Teas, where you smell a variety before selecting it based on the scent.
The afternoon tea is served in stages, first beginning with the plate of savouries before moving onto scones and cakes.

Savouries consisted of a selection that really honed in on the Christmas flavours like salmon with citrus crème, roasted turkey breast and cranberry butter, caramelised onion and cheese tarte, and egg and mayonnaise.

But I think one of my favourite parts of this afternoon tea was the scones, which really played on Christmas flavours with a Christmas pudding flavour with brandy butter, and cranberry scones served with jam and cream.
As for the sweet treats, options included a Mandarin and eggnog Swiss roll, mince pie tartlet, fondant fancy and the star of the show being a decadent chocolate mousse shaped like the Queen Elizabeth tower (otherwise known as Big Ben).
Traditional Festive Afternoon Tea at the London Marriott County hall is priced at £70 a person and is served daily from November 14 to January 1.
